UNC Wilmington (UNCW) Men's Tennis celebrated Senior Day in style, with Trey Mallory and his teammates securing a dominant 7-0 victory over the College of Charleston at UNCW Courts. The win marked UNCW's sixth consecutive triumph and a fitting end to the Coastal Athletic Association regular season.
The match held special significance as UNCW honored five graduating seniors: Harold Huens, Joseph Wayand, Sam Nicholson, Juan Jose Vargas, and Trey Mallory, recognizing their contributions to the program. The Alumni Weekend atmosphere added to the celebratory occasion.
Mallory featured in the doubles competition, teaming up with Alex de Gabriele in the number 2 spot. The duo faced a challenging start, falling behind 4-3 to Matias Gaedechens and JD Rojas Mora. However, the match was halted as UNCW secured the doubles point by winning on the other courts.
In singles action, Mallory displayed his dominance. Playing in the number 5 spot, he cruised to a convincing 6-3, 6-2 victory over Mora. This singles win extended UNCW's lead to 3-0, contributing significantly to the team's overall success.
