A strong South-Easterly breeze that started around 20 knots gradually weakened, leading to another testing day for sailors, including Bermudians Sebastian Kempe and Adriana Penruddocke.
Kempe Struggles in ILCA 7 Fleet
Sebastian Kempe is competing in the highly competitive 174-boat ILCA 7 fleet. After two more races, bringing the series total to six, Kempe experienced a decline in his overall standings. He moved from his previous position of 34th place to 50th place, accumulating 114 net points.
In the first race of the day, and the fifth of the series, Kempe finished 48th. The challenges continued in the second race, where he crossed the line in 53rd place.
Kempe faced significant difficulties navigating the conditions, resulting in a drop in his overall ranking.
Penruddocke Also Faces Challenges in ILCA 6 Fleet
Adriana Penruddocke is competing in the 113-boat ILCA 6 fleet. She finished the day with 122 net points, also falling in the overall standings. She moved from her previous position of 29th to 47th overall.
Penruddocke crossed the line in 41st place in the first race of the day, which was the fifth race of the regatta. She continued to struggle in the second race, finishing in 45th place.
Penruddocke also faced a tough day on the water, with the fluctuating wind conditions presenting significant challenges.
