Bermudian sailors Sebastian Kempe and Adriana Penruddocke were among the competitors hitting the water on the opening day, facing challenging conditions with light winds forecast. As is often the case in the early season, the morning session proved more favorable before the thermal breeze and the offshore gradient winds clashed, resulting in lighter and more unstable winds in the afternoon.
Kempe in ILCA 7 Fleet
Kempe is competing in the highly competitive 174-boat ILCA 7 fleet. After two races on Day One, Kempe is positioned in a promising 28th place with 22 points.
In the first race, Kempe demonstrated a solid start, crossing the line in 17th place. He then improved his performance in the second race, finishing strongly in 5th place.
