The Final Round of the 2025 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Qualifiers began with opening matches in Group A, where Mexico, the host nation, faced Bermuda at Sede de la Federación Mexicana de Fútbol in Toluca, Mexico.
Mexico, a pre-seeded top-ranked side with a history of success in the competition, having previously won the title and seeking their eighth FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup appearance, proved too strong for Bermuda.
Bermuda, making their third appearance in the Final Round and aiming for their first-ever World Cup qualification, faced a tough challenge against the dominant hosts.

Mexico asserted their dominance early, with Bermuda forced to defend in numbers. Mexico took the lead in the 15th minute through Citlalli Reyes, who turned in a cross from inside the box. Just one minute later, Mexico doubled their lead as Joselyn Solís beat her marker and slotted the ball past Bermuda's goalkeeper, Taya Rodrigues.
Mexico continued to threaten throughout the first half, creating a total of 16 shots. However, Bermuda managed to hold them to just two goals, going into the break with Mexico leading 2-0.
Mexico extended their lead in the 50th minute, with Anaiya Miyazato controlling a cross and firing a shot past Rodrigues to make it 3-0.
Substitute Valeria Vázquez added a fourth goal for the hosts in the 52nd minute, scoring at the back post.
Bermuda's first real attack of the match came in the 58th minute, earning them a corner.
In the 10th minute of stoppage time, Mexico added a fifth goal through a powerful shot from the edge of the box by Mia Villalpando.
Despite a valiant defensive effort, Bermuda ultimately fell to a 5-0 defeat against the favored Mexico side.
