The rest of the half saw both teams battle, but clear-cut chances were few and far between, with the scoreline remaining 0-0 at the interval.
Honduras finally broke the deadlock in the 51st minute. Jorge Benguché rose highest in the six-yard box to head home a corner, giving Honduras a 1-0 lead on the night and extending their aggregate advantage.
Just four minutes later, Honduras doubled their lead. A quick cross was turned into the net by Luis Pinto from close range, putting Honduras firmly in control.
Dale Eve continued to be busy in the Bermuda goal, making a diving save to his left in the 82nd minute to deny Carlos Mejía, preventing the scoreline from becoming even more emphatic.
Ultimately, Honduras proved too strong for Bermuda over the two legs. The Honduran goals in the second half of the second leg secured their passage to the next round of the Concacaf Gold Cup qualification process.
Bermuda's efforts, despite a promising first leg, were not enough to overcome the Honduran challenge. The team will now look to regroup and focus on future competitions.
