Basden & Shaw Compete at Phoenix Invitational

Brijette Basden joined her Shaw University Women's Track and Field teammates in a strong showing at the prestigious Phoenix Invitational, hosted by Elon University in North Carolina. The event attracted a competitive field, providing a valuable platform for the Bulldogs to test their mettle.

Basden featured in the individual sprint events, first taking to the track in the Women's 100 Meters. In a tightly contested race, Basden finished in 22nd place with a time of 13.10 seconds. Later in the day, Basden also participated in the Women's 200 Meters. She crossed the finish line in a time of 27.42 seconds, securing 24th place in the event. However, the highlight of the day for Basden and Shaw University came in the Women's 4 x 400 Meter Relay. Basden took on the crucial lead-off leg, setting the tone for her team.
