The Flora Duffy South Field Stadium at the National Sports Centre played host to a day of thrilling athletics, as the Bermuda National Athletics Association's Track Meet provided a platform for local athletes to showcase their talent.

The highlight of the day was a nail-biting near miss in the Under 17 Women's 100 Meter Dash. Amara Samuels came agonisingly close to qualifying for the Carifta Games, clocking a time of 12.89 seconds, just shy of the qualifying standard of 12.35. Samuels' performance demonstrated her potential and left spectators wondering what could have been.

In the Under 17 Women's 800 Meter Run, Riana Robinson delivered a dominant performance, crossing the finish line in 2:39.23. Jaylen Lewis finished second, clocking a time of 2:59.37. Robinson's victory highlighted her endurance and speed over the longer distance.

The Under 14 Men's 200 Meter Dash saw Adaj O'Brian emerge victorious, sprinting to a time of 25.74 seconds. Asa Trew-Smith finished second in 26.79 seconds, and Jadon Lightbourne took third place with a time of 27.06 seconds.

The track meet provided a valuable opportunity for athletes of all ages to compete and test their abilities. The near miss in the 100 Meter Dash added an extra layer of excitement to the event, highlighting the high stakes and competitive spirit of Bermuda athletics. The performances on display bode well for the future of track and field on the island.
