Scott Barnes Secures Podium Finish at Daytona Super Grand Prix

Bermudian karting ace Scott Barnes capped off a strong showing at the Daytona Super Grand Prix with a podium finish, demonstrating his skill and resilience on the iconic Daytona International Speedway.

Barnes, competing in the high-octane United States Pro Karting Series, delivered a stellar performance on the final day, securing a well-deserved third-place finish in the main event.

In the 25-lap final, Barnes navigated the challenging circuit with precision, completing the race in a time of 17:23.810. His consistent lap times and strategic racing saw him climb through the field, securing a coveted podium position.

Barnes's strong showing was preceded by a solid performance in the warm-up race, where he finished fourth, clocking an eight-lap time of 5:58.426. This warm-up provided valuable track time and allowed Barnes to fine-tune his kart for the main event.

Southside Motorsports Park basked in sunshine as the Bermuda Karting Club's 2024/2025 season continued with Race Day 11, delivering a day of high-octane racing.

With clear skies overhead, drivers took to the track, showcasing their skills and battling for supremacy across various classes.

Nathan DeCosta delivered a flawless performance in the Tag Senior Class, securing a clean sweep of victories. His exceptional driving ability saw him take the checkered flag in all three races, demonstrating his dominance in the class.

Ethan Wheatley mirrored DeCosta's achievement in the Tag Junior Class, also claiming three consecutive wins. His consistent speed and precision proved too much for his competitors.

The L206 Class provided a slightly more varied outcome, with Brian Bulhoes securing victory in two of the three races. However, Jason North managed to break Bulhoes' dominance, claiming victory in the remaining race.

Ryan Rebello dominated the Shifter Class, demonstrating his skill and the raw power of the shifter karts. He took home all three checkered flags, leaving his competitors trailing in his wake.

Tanner Correia completed the list of dominant performers, securing three wins in the Cadet Class. His performance was a testament to his skill and focus, even at a young age.

The sunny conditions provided a perfect backdrop for a day of thrilling racing. The drivers delivered a spectacle of speed and skill, providing a great day for fans. The results set the stage for an exciting conclusion to the 2024/2025 season.
