Kempe, fresh from his victory at the ILCA MidWinters East Regatta in Florida and qualification for the Junior Pan Am Games, demonstrated his consistency in the highly competitive 40-boat ILCA 7 fleet. After three races, he secured a commendable 5th place overall with 16 points. His day began strongly with a 3rd place finish, followed by an 8th in the second race, and concluded with a 5th in the final race of the day.
In the 90-boat ILCA 6 fleet, Olympian Penruddocke delivered a similarly impressive performance. She finished the day in 9th place with 16 net points. Penruddocke started with a solid 5th place, then improved to 3rd in the second race, before concluding the day with an 8th place finish.
Both Kempe and Penruddocke have positioned themselves strongly for the remainder of the regatta, demonstrating their skill and experience in challenging conditions. With multiple races still to come, they will be aiming to climb the leaderboard and secure podium finishes.
