IslandStats.com
The Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club will be the venue for a celebration of speed and skill as the Bermuda Motorsports Hall of Fame prepares to induct its third class of honorees on May 10th. The upcoming ceremony promises to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions across the spectrum of motorsports in Bermuda.

This year's inductees will join a prestigious group of past honorees, with the previous two ceremonies each inducting 20 individuals. The Hall of Fame celebrates the rich history of motorsports on the island, honoring pioneers and champions from various disciplines.

In 2019, the inaugural ceremony saw the induction of Burt Ingham, Chris Shanks, Aaron Pace, Robin Simmons, and Rudy Cann for the Bermuda Motocross Club. Harry Cox, Richard Christensen, Lawrence Trott, Llewelyn Hollis, and Mike Marshall were inducted for the Bermuda Powerboat Association. The Bermuda Motorcycle Club saw David Jones, Nevell Darrell, Ricky Vesely, Edward Cook Jr., and Cyril Whitter III honored, while Maynard Soares, Carlton Johnson, Jason North, and Scott Barnes were inducted for the Bermuda Karting Club.

The second year of inductions continued to recognize excellence across the board. Ed Hamilton, Ken Dear, Anthony Mello, St. Clair “Sparky” DeShields, and Eddie Roque were celebrated for their contributions to the Bermuda Powerboat Association. Allan Richardson, Colin Emery, Joey Richardson, Calvin Lynch, and Wendell Anderson were inducted for the Bermuda Motocross Association. Ray Chippa, David Johnson, Randy DeSilva, Veronica DeSilva, and Delano Telford were honored for the Bermuda Karting Club, and Sheila Jones, Toriano Wilson, Franz Egenolf, Troy Hill, and Grant Goudge were recognized for their achievements in the Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Association.

The 2025 induction ceremony will continue this tradition of honoring the icons of Bermuda's motorsports heritage, with inductees representing karting, street biking, dirt biking, and powerboat racing. The event promises to be a memorable occasion, celebrating the passion, skill, and dedication that have shaped the island's motorsports landscape.
