Aries Gilbert-Simons and her Johnson C. Smith University Women's Tennis teammates faced a tough challenge against North Carolina A&T Women's Tennis, ultimately falling 6-0 at the Coleman/Cuthbertson Tennis Courts.
In doubles play, North Carolina A&T's No. 2 team of Hana El Sherif and Randy Rakotoarilala defeated Gilbert-Simons and Auset Bligen 6-1.
North Carolina A&T continued their strong performance in singles, with Gomez Weiss securing a 3-0 lead for her team with a win at No. 4 singles. Weiss defeated Gilbert-Simons 6-2, 6-0.
The loss represents a challenging day for Johnson C. Smith, but Gilbert-Simons and her teammates will look to learn from the experience and bounce back in their upcoming matches.
