CVPCC Second XI 97 South Perth CC 4th Grade 36/3
Brianna Ray and her South Perth CC 4th Grade teammates have made a strong start in their WASTCA Seniors Summer 2024/25 two-day match against CVPCC Second XI at Harold Rossiter Park.
After winning the toss, CVPCC Second XI elected to bat but were bowled out for a meagre 97. Andre Vallejo top-scored for CVPCC with an unbeaten 27, but their innings was undone by a superb bowling performance from Shivjot Singh, who claimed 5 wickets for just 16 runs from his 10 overs. Ray also contributed with the ball, taking 1 wicket for 9 runs from her 5 overs.
In reply, South Perth CC 4th Grade reached 36/3 at the close of play on day one. Christian Whitfield will resume his innings on 8 not out, while Mrinal Sinha has been the pick of the bowlers for CVPCC Second XI, taking 2 wickets for 4 runs from his 5 overs.
With a first-innings lead already in sight, South Perth CC 4th Grade will be looking to build on their strong start on day two and push for a convincing victory. Ray's contributions with the ball have helped put her team in a commanding position, and they will be hoping to capitalize on this advantage when play resumes.
