Bermuda's junior tennis team experienced another close encounter at the BJKCJ DCJ North/Central America & Caribbean Pre-Qualifying Junior Davis Cup in Guatemala City, falling 2-1 to Panama in a tightly contested match.

Tristan Pettit started the tie for Bermuda against Eric Quintero. Despite a strong start, Pettit ultimately lost the match 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 in a thrilling three-setter.

Tobiah Goodchild then levelled the tie for Bermuda with a confident performance against Juan Fernando Fondevila, winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.

The doubles match would decide the winner of the tie. Goodchild and Jadon Spriggs teamed up again for Bermuda, facing the Panamanian duo of Fondevila and Quintero. Despite a valiant effort, the Bermudian pair were edged out 6-4, 6-3, giving Panama the victory.

Although Bermuda has now suffered two narrow defeats, the team has shown great fighting spirit and determination in both ties. They will look to build on their experiences and aim for a positive result in their remaining group matches.
