Bermuda's Junior Tennis team began their campaign at the BJKCJ DCJ North/Central America & Caribbean Pre-Qualifying Junior Davis Cup in Guatemala City with a hard-fought 2-1 loss to Trinidad & Tobago.
The young Bermudian squad, competing in Group C, took to Court 5 for their opening match. Tristan Pettit faced a tough challenge in the first singles match, falling to Jovan Garibana in straight sets, 7-6, 6-3. Tobiah Goodchild then took to the court but was also defeated in straight sets by Nirav Dougdeen, 6-2, 6-2.
With Bermuda trailing 2-0, the doubles match became crucial. Goodchild teamed up with Jadon Spriggs, who was making his international debut, to face Garibana and Dougdeen. The Bermudian duo rose to the occasion, delivering a strong performance to win the match in straight sets, 6-0, 7-5.
