Warwick Academy swimmers, along with Gabby and Thomas Cechini of Mercersburg Academy, continued their impressive performances at the Eastern Interscholastic Swimming Championships at the Kunkel Aquatic Center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Thomas Cechini finished sixth in the Men's 200 Yard Freestyle A Final with a time of 1:39.98. Gabby Cechini also finished sixth, but in the Women's 200 Yard IM C Final, achieving a new personal best time of 2:16.49.
The Warwick Academy team of Gabby Esposito, Sofia Leclerc, Jorgia White, and Elann Fulton won the Women’s 200 Yard Freestyle Relay C Final in 1:45.19.
Thomas Cechini swam the third leg for the Mercersburg Academy Men’s 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team, which won the A Final in 1:22.98, a Double AA All-American time.
In preliminary events:
Gabby Esposito finished 51st in the Women’s 100 Yard Freestyle (57.03).
In the Men’s 100 Yard Freestyle: Logan Jones was 45th (49.98), Jamie MacFarlane 87th (53.80), Joseph Cechini 97th (54.92), and Gianluca Bortoli 126th (1:00.03).
In the Women's 500 Yard Freestyle: Gabby Cechini finished 16th (Personal Best 5:18.96, advancing to the B Final), Jorgia White 22nd (5:27.53, advancing to the C Final), and Sofia Leclerc 47th (6:37.33).
In the Men’s 500 Yard Freestyle: Thomas Cechini was 5th (Personal Best 4:33.70, advancing to the A Final), Noah Fulton 42nd (5:22.05), and Jackson Langley 46th (5:50.69). Elanna Fulton finished 43rd in the Women’s 100 Yard Backstroke (1:05.13).
In the Men’s 100 Yard Backstroke: Axel Wernbo was 51st (1:00.12), and Zachary Johnson 67th in the Men’s 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:13.10).
The Warwick Academy team (Esposito, Leclerc, White, and Fulton) qualified for the C Final of the Women’s 400 Yard Freestyle Relay (3:58.59).
In the Men’s 400 Yard Freestyle Relay: Thomas Cechini swam the third leg for Mercersburg Academy, who posted the fastest time (3:03.00, advancing to the A Final and qualifying for the Junior 18 and Under Summer Champs). The Warwick Academy team (Jones, Johnson, Wernbo, and MacFarlane) advanced to the C Final (3:31.66).
