IslandStats.com
Isabella Howes capped off a successful run at the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Swimming Championships on the final day, competing in two preliminary events at the Markham Pan Am Centre.

Howes anchored the Western Women’s 4x100 SC Meter Medley Relay team to a third-place finish, securing qualification for the U Sports Canadian University Swimming Championships in March. She also swam the leadoff leg for the Western Women's 4x100 SC Meter Freestyle Relay team, which finished second and also advanced to the U Sports Championships in March.

Throughout the meet, Howes demonstrated exceptional form, breaking two Bermuda Short Course Records. In the Women's 200 SC Meter Freestyle B Final, her time of 2:04.53 not only earned her second place but also eclipsed Vanessa Esposito’s previous record of 2:07.43, set on April 23rd, 2016.

Howes continued her record-breaking spree at the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Swimming Championships.

On her way to winning the Women's 100 SC Meter Freestyle B Final, Howes clocked a time of 57.31 seconds, breaking Ashley Yearwood's previous record of 57.33 seconds, which had stood since July 18th, 2013, at the National Sports Center.

Howes then lowered the record even further, swimming a 57.23-second split on the first leg of the 4x100 SC Meter Freestyle Relay.
