Despite intermittent rain showers, the Bermuda Netball Association season resumed at Bernard's Park, with action across the Under-18 and Senior Leagues.
Under 18 Division: League Cup Tournament Continues
The Under-18 League Cup Tournament saw three matches played. The Storm defeated the North Village Lady Rams 19-17, the Phoenix Fire overcame the DC Diamonds 13-5, and the North Village Lady Rams narrowly edged out the DC Diamonds 8-7.
Senior League: Storm Surge Towards Title, Phoenix and Tigers Triumph
In Senior League action, the Storm Seniors dominated against the Lady Colts of St. George's, winning convincingly 65-21. Despite missing key players, the Storm shone in unfamiliar positions. Best Attacker Nabiilah Nasir led the scoring with an impressive 48 goals, supported by SheNova Edwards' 17 goals. Sonja Townsend was named the Storm's Best Defender, and Selah Tuzo was the MVP.
For St. George's, Nikki Smith and Best Attacker Stacy-Ann Brown each scored 8 goals, while Kristen Holman added 5. Kiera Simmons was their Best Defender, and Sarafina Wooldridge-Burns was the MVP.
Phoenix also enjoyed a strong win, defeating the North Village Lady Rams 45-27. Keizhari Knight led the way with 23 goals, with MVP Eshe Grant contributing 14 and K'Xiyae Gibbons 8. Asante Chapman was the Best Attacker, and Kiante Lightbourne the Best Defender.
The North Village Lady Rams' goals were shared between Best Attacker Coriah Simmons (12) and Jordyn Morris (12), while MVP Zhanae Simmons scored 3. Jada Richards was their Best Defender.
The Tigers produced the highest-scoring performance of the day, overwhelming the Dockies 74-6. Candace Paynter led the charge with 24 goals, followed by Jahtuere Trott (19), Best Attacker Nahjae Raynor (18), and Demiqua Daniels (10). Sideya Dill was the Best Defender, and Aneya Robinson the MVP.
For the Dockies, Jess Ferreira scored 3 goals, Emma Hickey added 2, and Best Attacker Meghan Sherwin scored 1. Caroline Callan was the Best Defender, and Jana Phillips the MVP.
