Sincere Hall made a valuable contribution off the bench as his Hull City Under-21 teammates delivered a dominant performance, securing a resounding 5-0 victory over Birmingham City at Bishop Burton College.
A hat-trick from Tyrell Sellars-Fleming, along with goals from Zane Myers and Hugh Parker, sealed all three points for Hull City in the Professional Development League clash.
Hull City manager Conor Sellars made four changes to his starting XI from the side that beat Coventry City 3-0 in the Premier League Cup. Callum Yam replaced Harvey Cartwright in goal, while Stan Ashbee, Harry Vaughan, and Sellars-Fleming came into the starting lineup in place of Harry Revill, Cameron Gray, and Hall, respectively.
Hull City took an early lead in the seventh minute. A flowing team move, starting with Yam, saw Noah Wadsworth and Myers combine effectively on the right flank. Myers then delivered a superb cross to the far post, where Sellars-Fleming headed home with precision.
Just two minutes later, Sellars-Fleming doubled the lead, converting a pinpoint cross from Calvin Okike from close range.
Hull City continued their dominant start, adding a third goal just after the quarter-hour mark. Wadsworth's corner was not fully cleared by the Birmingham defence, and the ball fell kindly to Myers on the edge of the box. His left-footed strike flew through a crowd of players and into the bottom corner.
Yam then made a comfortable save at his near post to deny Frank Tattum, before Myers fired over the bar at the other end after good hold-up play by Sellars-Fleming. Captain Jack Leckie released Myers, who teed up Sellars-Fleming, but his shot was saved by William O'Sullivan.
Birmingham's Briar Bateman then had his effort blocked by Leckie, before Ashbee headed narrowly wide from Wadsworth's corner.
Three minutes into the second half, Hull City were awarded a penalty, which Sellars-Fleming confidently dispatched to complete his hat-trick.
Rocco Coyle's free-kick from range deflected wide off the Birmingham wall, before Myers saw his shot blocked. Wadsworth then drilled the rebound wide. Vaughan was next to try his luck, firing narrowly wide, before Sellars-Fleming's left-footed effort was blocked by Taylor Dodd.
With ten minutes remaining, Hull City scored their fifth goal. A neat pass sent substitute Parker through on goal. From a tight angle on the left, the Irish striker placed his right-footed finish past the onrushing O'Sullivan and into the far corner, marking a goal on his Hull City debut.
