Trey Mallory and his UNC Wilmington University Men's Tennis teammates battled valiantly against the Florida Gators, but ultimately fell 4-2 in a three-hour, 15-minute marathon at Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
The loss drops UNC Wilmington to 1-1 on the season, while Florida improves to 3-2. Florida, who finished last season ranked just outside the top 25, proved to be a tough opponent.
Mallory featured in the doubles competition, teaming up with Jordi Domenech. The pair faced a strong challenge from Jan Magnus Johnson and Ben Weintraub, ultimately falling 6-4.
