Daniel Phillips and his Arizona State Sun Devils fell to a 4-0 defeat against No. 12 Kentucky in the Championship match of the Lexington Regional, bringing their ITA Indoor Kickoff Weekend campaign to an end.
Arizona faced a tough challenge against the highly-ranked Wildcats. In the Doubles matches, Phillips and his partner Mikey Anderson battled hard but ultimately fell to a 7-6 tiebreak loss against Charlelie Cosnet and Antoine Ghibaudo on court three.
Arizona State found themselves trailing 1-0 heading into the Singles matches. Phillips, playing in the number five spot, faced a tough opponent in Eli Stepheson. He was trailing 4-2 in the first set when the match was halted due to Kentucky clinching the overall victory.
Despite the defeat, Arizona State can take positives from their performance at the ITA Kickoff Weekend. They showed resilience and determination against strong opposition, with Phillips and Anderson pushing their doubles opponents all the way.
