The PHC Stadium will be buzzing with excitement as the East-West Middle School All-Star Football Classic kicks off, promising a showcase of young footballing talent.
The Middle School Girls match, starting at 2:00 pm, is expected to be a closely contested affair. Last year's game was decided by a single goal, and this year's edition promises similar intensity.
The East team boasts a strong defensive line featuring BHS trio Stella Simpson, Sophie Tindall, and Marli Robinson, alongside Chatmore Academy's Suri Ruddock and The Whitney Institute's Melah Rutherford. KO Cup MVP Avery Taylor (BHS) and Somersfield Academy's Mia Daponte will control the midfield, while MSA's Phoenix Williams leads the attack.
The West team will be spearheaded by KO Cup winner and MVP Riley Khan, with Saltus pair Shannon Fisher and Leydi Raynor providing support in midfield. Warwick Academy's De'ari Trott and the Bermuda Institute's Steven Astwood will anchor the defence, while the attacking threat comes from Ja'Zhari Ingham (Warwick Academy) and Micha Lewis (Dellwood Middle School).
The Middle School Boys game kicks off at 3:30 pm, with Saltus players making their presence felt for the East team. Adam Barritt will be a key figure in defence, while Xonti Burch controls the midfield, aiming to supply KO Cup hattrick hero and MVP Chaz Edmead.
The West team boasts a formidable goalkeeper in Warwick Academy's Xavier Thomas-Bassett, who was named goalkeeper of the tournament at the CFU Championships. Russon Bailey (Sandys) and Cillian McGlynn will provide midfield strength, while the attacking duo of Ja'Zhari Ingham (Warwick Academy) and Micha Lewis (Dellwood Middle School) will be looking to find the back of the net.
With talented players on both sides, the East-West Middle School All-Star Football Classic promises an afternoon of thrilling and competitive football.
