The UK's winter weather continues to disrupt the football schedule, with freezing temperatures and snow leading to numerous postponements and cancellations. However, several Bermudian players braved the elements to take to the pitch this weekend, with mixed results.
Nahki Wells
Striker Nahki Wells and his Bristol City teammates suffered FA Cup heartbreak, falling to a 2-1 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Ashton Gate.
Despite a valiant effort, City were unable to overcome an early two-goal deficit. Rayan Ait-Nouri opened the scoring for Wolves after just eight minutes, and Rodrigo Gomes doubled their advantage shortly after. Scott Twine pulled one back for City with a spectacular free-kick before half-time, but they couldn't find an equalizer in the second half, exiting the competition in the Third Round.
Razhir Smith-Jones, Reese Jones Jr. & Coleridge Fubler
Binfield FC, featuring the Bermudian trio of Rahzir Smith-Jones, Reese Jones Jr., and Coleridge Fubler, suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat away to Moneyfields FC in the Pitching In Isthmian League.
Keziah Martin
Midfielder Keziah Martin played a part in Rushall Olympic FC's comeback victory, as they edged past Scunthorpe United 2-1 at Dales Lane.
Willie Clemons
Winger Willie Clemons and his Felixstowe & Walton FC teammates returned to the top of the Isthmian League - North Division One with an impressive 2-0 away win against Heybridge Swifts at the First Call Community Stadium.
Despite the challenging conditions and mixed results, these Bermudian players continue to make their mark on the UK football scene. Fans will be hoping for a break in the weather to allow for more consistent action in the weeks to come.
