Bermudian tennis star Daniel Phillips faced a challenging second day at the Sun Devil Preseason Invitational, despite a valiant effort on the court.
Representing Arizona State at the Whiteman Tennis Center, Phillips took on Togan Tokac from Texas A&M in a singles match that went the distance. In a tightly contested encounter, Phillips ultimately fell to a 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 defeat.
Despite the setback, Phillips demonstrated his fighting spirit and resilience, pushing his opponent to the limit in a thrilling three-set battle.
In the doubles competition, Phillips partnered with Mathis Bondaz to face another Texas A&M pairing, Giulio Perego and JC Roddick. The Arizona State duo fought hard but couldn't overcome their opponents, falling to a 6-3 defeat.
While Day Two proved challenging for Phillips, his performance in the singles match highlighted his competitive spirit and ability to push a strong opponent all the way. He will be looking to bounce back and contribute to Arizona State's success as the tournament progresses.
