Zac Littlewood has emerged victorious after a thrilling battle at the 2025 ILCA Oceania and Australian Championship in the ILCA7 class.
The Western Australian sailor showcased his skills and resilience across 12 challenging races in the waters off Manly in Brisbane. Littlewood's determination was evident as he fought for every point, culminating in a nail-biting finish against Dutch competitor Duko Bos.
The championship went down to the wire, with both sailors finishing on equal points. However, Littlewood ultimately claimed the title on a countback, highlighting the importance of consistency throughout the competition.
Bermuda's Campbell Patton, who recently finished 4th in the Sail Sydney Regatta, secured a respectable 8th place with 67 net points. Patton demonstrated his competitiveness with seven top-10 finishes, including a victory in Race 11 and a 3rd place finish in Race 3.
This regatta provided a stern test for the ILCA7 sailors, with a variety of conditions challenging their tactical acumen and boat handling skills. Littlewood's victory is a testament to his ability to adapt and perform under pressure, marking him as a rising star in the sailing world.
