Kamau Leverock and his Voyagers teammates endured another frustratingly close defeat in the Barbados T10 tournament, falling just four runs short against the Guardians at Windward Park.
After winning the toss and electing to field, the Voyagers restricted the Guardians to 122/3 in their 10 overs. Athelbert Brathwaite was the star of the innings, smashing a blistering 60 off just 28 balls, including five fours and five sixes. Giovonte Depeiza was the pick of the Voyagers bowlers, finishing with figures of 2-0-12-1, while Leverock bowled one over for 12 runs.
In reply, the Voyagers made a valiant effort to chase down the target, with Akeem Springer leading the charge with a powerful 53 off 24 balls. However, despite Springer's heroics and a late surge, they ultimately fell agonizingly short, finishing on 118/4. Roshon Primus was the standout bowler for the Guardians, claiming 1-13 from his 1.2 overs. Leverock did not bat in the match.
This narrow defeat marks another close call for the Voyagers, who have now suffered several heartbreaking losses in the tournament.
