Leverock & Voyagers Suffer Defeat to Settlers

IslandStats.com
Settlers Win by 8 Wickets

Voyagers 130/3 Settlers 134/2

Kamau Leverock and his Voyagers teammates endured another disappointing outing in the Barbados T10 Cricket Tournament, suffering an 8-wicket defeat to the Settlers at Windward Park on Lucas Street. Despite posting a competitive total, the Voyagers' bowling attack was unable to contain the Settlers' batsmen, leaving them still searching for their first win of the tournament.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Voyagers put on a strong batting display. Rashawn Worrell led the charge with a blistering knock of 58 off just 20 balls, smashing 7 fours and 4 sixes. Despite Leverock not featuring in the batting lineup, the Voyagers reached a respectable total of 130/3 from their allotted 10 overs. Kadeem Alleyne was the pick of the Settlers bowlers, taking 2-24 from his two overs.

However, the Settlers made light work of the chase, reaching the target in just 9.2 overs with 8 wickets to spare. Zachary Carter was the star performer with the bat, hitting 46 off 22 balls, including 3 fours and 4 sixes. Giovonte Depeiza was the only Voyagers bowler to take a wicket, finishing with figures of 1-18 from his single over. Leverock did not bowl in the match.

This latest defeat extends the Voyagers' winless streak in the tournament. While their batting showed signs of improvement, their bowling attack struggled to contain the opposition batsmen. They will need to find a way to take wickets more consistently if they are to challenge the top teams in the competition.

For the Settlers, this victory highlights their strong batting depth and their ability to chase down targets with ease. They will be looking to carry this momentum forward as they aim to climb the table and secure a place in the knockout stages.

The Barbados T10 continues to provide exciting and unpredictable action. While the Voyagers' campaign has been disappointing so far, they will be hoping to salvage some pride and finish the tournament on a positive note.
