Warriors Win by 3 Wickets
Voyagers 74/6 Warriors 75/7
Kamau Leverock and his Voyagers teammates endured further frustration in the Barbados T10 Cricket Tournament, suffering their fifth consecutive defeat in a nail-biting encounter against the Warriors at Windward Park.
In a rain-affected match reduced to 9 overs per side, the Warriors won the toss and elected to field, putting the Voyagers into bat. Despite a valiant knock of 40 not out from Akeem Springer, the Voyagers struggled to build a substantial total, finishing on 74/6. Springer was the only batsman to reach double figures, hitting 3 fours and 3 sixes in his 25-ball innings. Preston McSween was the pick of the Warriors bowlers, claiming impressive figures of 2-5 from his two overs.
Chasing a modest target, the Warriors also found runs hard to come by. Raymond Kellman top-scored with 20, but wickets fell at regular intervals. Amari Alexandre Goodridge was the most successful bowler for the Voyagers, taking 3-18 from his two overs.
The match went down to the wire, with the Warriors needing 10 runs from the final over bowled by Leverock. Despite claiming a wicket with his third delivery, Leverock couldn't prevent the Warriors from reaching their target, with one run coming from the fourth ball to secure a 3-wicket victory with two balls to spare.
This latest defeat leaves the Voyagers still searching for their first win of the tournament. Their batting struggles have been a recurring theme, and they will need to find a way to post more competitive totals if they are to challenge the top teams.
For the Warriors, this victory provides a much-needed boost. They showed resilience under pressure, chasing down the target despite a late wobble.
The Barbados T10 continues to provide exciting and closely contested matches. While the Voyagers' campaign has been disappointing so far, they will be hoping to salvage some pride and finish the tournament on a positive note.
