Friendship Semi-Final

Hamilton Parish 2 Dandy Town Hornets 3

Dandy Town Hornets edged out Hamilton Parish in a pulsating Friendship Trophy Semi-Final at the PHC Stadium, securing a 3-2 victory to set up a final clash with PHC Zebras. The match, a repeat of their earlier 2-2 draw in the Premier Division, lived up to its billing as a closely contested encounter.

Hamilton Parish drew first blood in the 22nd minute, with Leroy Lewis opening the scoring. However, Dandy Town responded quickly, equalizing through David Jones Jr just eight minutes later. The Hornets then took control of the match, with Nizigh Spence giving them the lead in the 65th minute.

Tomiko Goater seemingly put the game beyond doubt when he extended Dandy Town's lead to 3-1 in the 74th minute. However, Hamilton Parish refused to surrender, with Lewis grabbing his second goal of the game just four minutes later to set up a tense finish.

Despite a late surge from Hamilton Parish, Dandy Town held on to secure their place in the final.

The final, scheduled for New Year's Day at the Somerset Cricket Club, promises to be a captivating encounter between two of Bermudian football's most decorated clubs. Dandy Town will be seeking to end their trophy drought, while PHC Zebras will be aiming to secure their third consecutive Friendship Trophy title.

For Hamilton Parish, this defeat brings their Friendship Trophy campaign to an end. Despite the loss, they can take pride in their performance and will now focus on their bid to remain in the Premier Division.
