Kudos to young sailors Evan Davis and Noah Amaradasa for supporting sustainability in the sailing world! During their time in Argentina, they donated their old life jackets to the ROPE (Recycled Optimist Parts & Equipment) programme, a fantastic initiative by IODA.
This programme promotes sustainability by encouraging sailors worldwide to recycle and reuse Optimist sailing equipment. By collecting and redistributing gear to local sailing schools and communities in need, we’re creating opportunities for young sailors who might not have access to proper equipment.
Since launching in 2021, ROPE is making a real difference in making sailing more accessible and environmentally conscious. Every donated piece of equipment tells a story of community and support.
