Bermuda Cruise Past Bahamas to Advance in Qualifiers

IslandStats.com
Bermuda Win by 32 Runs

Bermuda 179/4 Bahamas 116/9

Bermuda continued their dominant run in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub Regional Americas Qualifiers, securing a convincing 62-run victory over the Bahamas at the Belgrano Athletic Club Ground in Argentina.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Bermuda posted an imposing total of 179/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Man of the Match Tre Manders led the charge with a blistering 82, smashing 5 fours and 6 sixes in his 52-ball knock. He combined with Dion Stovell (49 not out) for a crucial 104-run partnership for the fourth wicket, which propelled Bermuda to a commanding total. Stovell's innings, comprising 3 fours and 1 six off 39 balls, provided the perfect foil to Manders' aggression.

Romaine Smith was the pick of the Bahamian bowlers, finishing with figures of 1 for 19 from his 4 overs. However, the rest of the attack struggled to contain Bermuda's explosive batting lineup.

In reply, the Bahamas could only muster 116/9 in their 20 overs. Renford Davson top-scored with 40, but lacked support from the rest of the batting order. Derrick Brangman was the standout performer for Bermuda with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for 25 runs in his 4 overs.

This victory guarantees Bermuda's progression to the next round of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub Regional Americas Qualifiers. Their final match against the Cayman Islands, scheduled for tomorrow, will now decide the winner of the tournament.

With momentum firmly on their side, Bermuda will be confident of finishing the tournament on a high and carrying their winning form into the next stage of the qualifiers.
