South Perth 4th Grade Won by 4 Wickets

Nollamara Turf AUSIND 2nd XI 98 South Perth 4th Grade 101/6

Brianna Ray produced a match-winning performance for South Perth 4th Grade, claiming four wickets to lead her side to a convincing four-wicket victory over Nollamara Turf AUSIND 2nd XI at the Ernest Johnson Oval.

Invited to play in the Men's 4th Grade team, Ray made an immediate impact with the ball. After South Perth won the toss and elected to field, Nollamara Turf were bundled out for a paltry 98 in 29.2 overs. Faneshwar Mishra top-scored with 47, but he was one of Ray's victims, trapped LBW by the Bermudian all-rounder.

Ray was the pick of the bowlers, returning impressive figures of 4 for 21 from her 8 overs. All four of her wickets were bowled, showcasing her accuracy and ability to generate movement off the pitch. She dismissed Mishra, Gopal Zalavadiya, Sanjay Patel and Rahul Raveendran, effectively dismantling the Nollamara Turf batting line-up.

Ray’s first ball was initially given out LBW, but the batter appealed, and the decision was overturned.

Speaking to www.islandstats.com, Ray expressed her delight with the performance, "It was a really fun day! The men were very welcoming and gave me a fair opportunity to have a bowl... I had a great partnership with Josh Brown, and together we put a lot of pressure on the batters with the ball."

Ray also highlighted the importance of rediscovering her form with the ball, "Overall, it was a great opportunity to spend some time out in the middle and rediscover some form with the ball after a couple of weeks without any wickets. I'm hoping to carry this confidence into the new year and secure a win with the girls in the A-Grade side.”

South Perth chased down the target with ease, reaching 101 for 6 in 24.3 overs. Ray's contribution with the ball proved decisive, setting up a comfortable victory for her team. This impressive performance will undoubtedly boost her confidence as she looks to continue her cricketing journey in Australia.
