Elijah Daley continued his impressive showing at the World Aquatics Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest, setting a new Bermuda National Record in the Men's 100m Butterfly.
Competing in Heat 4, Daley touched the wall in a time of 53.52, securing a ninth-place finish in his Heat and 52nd overall. This time bettered his previous National Record of 53.56, which he set at the Ontario Junior Internationals in December 2023.
This impressive performance comes just a day after Daley narrowly missed out on breaking his Personal Best and National Record in the 200m Butterfly. He has clearly bounced back with determination, showcasing his talent on the world stage.
While Daley did not advance to the Semi-Finals, setting a new National Record at a major international competition is a significant achievement for the young Bermudian swimmer.
Daley's strong showing in Budapest is a testament to his hard work and dedication. Bermuda will be eagerly anticipating his future performances as he continues to represent the island nation with pride on the international swimming scene.
