Bermuda Cruise to 71-Run Victory Over Belize

IslandStats.com
Bermuda Win by 71 runs

Bermuda 123/9 Belize 52

Bermuda continued their dominant display in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Sub Regional Americas Qualifier with a comprehensive 71-run victory over Belize at the St George's College Ground in Argentina.

After being put into bat by Belize, Bermuda posted a competitive total of 123/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Openers Terryn Fray and Tre Manders laid a solid foundation with 34 runs apiece, taking the score to 95/1 after 13.3 overs. However, a flurry of late wickets saw Bermuda lose momentum, adding just 28 runs while losing 8 wickets in the final 6.3 overs. Lawrence Bonner was the pick of the Belize bowlers, claiming 3 wickets for 24 runs.

Despite the late collapse, Bermuda's total proved more than enough. Belize were skittled out for a paltry 52, with only Bernan Stephenson and Alex Oxley reaching double figures scoring 11 runs each. Kevon Fubler was the chief destroyer for Bermuda, taking 3 wickets for just 12 runs in his 3.2 overs. Dion Stovell, who was later named Man of the Match, also impressed with figures of 3 for 17 from his 4 overs.

This victory sees Bermuda remain at the top of the table with a perfect record in the tournament. They now have a rest day before facing the Bahamas and Cayman Islands in their final two matches. With momentum firmly on their side, Bermuda will be confident of securing their place in the next stage of the qualifiers.
