The Bermuda School Sports Federation (BSSF) Football season concluded with a bang, as Somersfield Academy and Saltus Grammar School emerged victorious in two action-packed finals at the Clyde Best Centre of Excellence.
Under 13 Middle School Final: Burgess the Hero for Somersfield

In a nail-biting Under-13 final, Somersfield Academy edged out Warwick Academy 2-1 thanks to two goals from the sensational Cairo Burgess. Burgess opened the scoring with a spectacular long-range free-kick that soared over the outstretched arms of the Warwick goalkeeper.
Warwick Academy fought back, leveling the score in the second half through Gebre Vickers, setting up a frantic finish. Just as the match seemed destined for penalties, Burgess was brought down in the box, earning a penalty kick in the dying seconds. He calmly stepped up and slotted home the winner, sending the Somersfield supporters into raptures.
Both Burgess and Vickers were named MVPs for their outstanding performances, showcasing the future of Bermudian football.
Under 16 Senior School Final: Saltus Dominate with Offensive Firepower
Saltus Grammar School 6 Berkeley Institute Gold 2
The Under-16 final saw Saltus Grammar School unleash an offensive masterclass, defeating Berkeley Institute Gold 6-2. The dynamic duo of Saezjhor Dent and Malik Paynter proved unstoppable, combining for five goals.
Dent opened the scoring, capitalizing on a powerful run from Paynter. Paynter then doubled the lead with a clinical finish, before Curtis Jackson added a third with a header from a corner. Paynter and Dent connected again to make it 4-0 before halftime.
Dent completed his hat trick early in the second half, putting Saltus firmly in control. Berkeley Institute pulled one back through a stunning 25-yard free kick from Saatchi Trott, but Paynter immediately responded with another goal to extinguish any hopes of a comeback.
Despite a late consolation goal from Nazri Butterfield, Saltus cruised to victory, showcasing their dominance and depth. Paynter and Trott were named MVPs for their impressive displays.
