Brianna Ray and her South Perth teammates ended their 2024 campaign with a disappointing nine-wicket defeat to Subiaco-Floreat in the Women's Senior T20 competition.
South Perth struggled with the bat, posting a modest total of 100/7 in their 20 overs. Matilda Richings top-scored with 25, but Ray was unfortunately dismissed without scoring. Neha Prashanth was the pick of the Subiaco-Floreat bowlers, taking 2 wickets for 17 runs.
Subiaco-Floreat made light work of the chase, reaching 103/1 in just 14.3 overs. Opener Jacqueline Naidoo played a starring role, smashing an unbeaten 57 to guide her team to victory. Loren Russo claimed the only wicket for South Perth, finishing with figures of 1 for 10, while Ray conceded 25 runs from her 2.3 overs.
Despite the loss, South Perth can take some positives from their 2024 season. They showed glimpses of their potential, with several players contributing strong performances throughout the year.
