Watson-Brown competed in Heat Three of the Women's 100m Backstroke, facing tough competition from around the globe. She powered through the water, touching the wall in a time of 1:01.68. This placed her 4th in her heat and 44th overall.
Next up was Sam Williamson in Heat Two of the Men's 200m Individual Medley. Williamson, known for his versatility and strong finishes, attacked the race with his signature blend of speed and endurance. He touched the wall in a time of 2:01.07, securing 4th place in his heat and 39th overall.
But Williamson's swim wasn't just about his placing. His time broke his own Bermudian record, he held with a time of 2:01.52 set back on November 15th 2024 during the BUCS Championships.
Williamson told www.islandstats.com, “My swim was good – I wanted to go out fast to give myself a chance of a Personal Best and that is what I did. My first 100 was great and the Breaststroke was good too – I just was a bit tired towards the end of the Freestyle but I gave it my all and I am really happy with my swim.”
The performances of Watson-Brown and Williamson have made Bermuda proud. They have demonstrated their talent and dedication on the world stage, inspiring young swimmers back home.
