Isabella Howes and her Western University Swimming teammates made a splash at the OUA Stratten Divisional Championships, securing a strong second-place finish at the Athletic Centre Pool. Howes proved to be a valuable asset to the team, contributing in six different events.
Western's Women amassed an impressive 882 points, showcasing their depth and talent across the board. Howes played a key role in the team's success, demonstrating her versatility and competitive spirit.
In the 200 SC Meter Freestyle Relay, Howes swam the second leg for Western's 'B' team, helping them secure an 8th place finish with a time of 1:49.76. She then took on the individual 200 SC Meter Freestyle, finishing 11th with a time of 2:10.47.
Howes continued to make her mark in the sprint events, clocking a time of 27.95 in the 50 SC Meter Freestyle for a 23rd place finish. She followed that up with a strong performance in the 100 SC Meter Freestyle, finishing 12th with a time of 59.10.
In the 50 SC Meter Butterfly, Howes showcased her versatility, finishing 16th with a time of 30.10. She wrapped up her impressive meet by swimming the second leg for Western's 'B' team in the 400 SC Meter Freestyle Relay, helping them secure a 6th place finish with a time of 3:58.13.
Howes' contributions across multiple events highlight her value to the Western Mustangs. Her dedication and competitive spirit are an inspiration to her teammates, and her performances helped propel the team to a successful championship meet.
