Tajer Basden, representing Johnson C. Smith University Men's Track and Field team, marked the beginning of their 2024 Indoor Season at the Get Your Marks Meet Opener, hosted by JDL Fast Track.
Basden, an alumnus of CedarBridge Academy, made a notable debut in his first year with the University team.
Competing in the Men's High Jump, freshman Basden secured a 10th place finish with a top leap of 1.65 meters (5 feet 5 inches). His performance was a promising start to his collegiate athletic career.
In the Men's Long Jump, Basden achieved a leap of 5.25 meters (17 feet 2.75 inches), finishing in 21st place. His participation and results in the event set a solid foundation for his future competitions.
The opening meet highlighted Basden's potential and Johnson C. Smith University's bid to build on the performances as the season progresses.
