The stage is set for an exciting finale to the Bermuda School Sports Federation Primary School Football Championships, with two highly anticipated finals scheduled for Thursday at the Clyde Best Center of Excellence.
Division 2 Boys: West End Primary and Port Royal Primary Clash for Glory
The Division 2 Boys' Final will be an all-west affair, as Port Royal Primary and West End Primary battle for the championship title. Both teams secured their spots in the final with impressive semi-final victories.
Tayz Showers was the hero for Port Royal Primary, scoring twice in their 3-2 win over Prospect Primary. Roman Bather added the other goal for Port Royal, while King Phillips and Zavion Trott found the back of the net for Prospect.
West End Primary booked their place in the final with a 7-4 victory over St. George's Preparatory. Cove Bailey was unstoppable, scoring five goals to lead his team to victory. Dennai Outerbridge and Massiah Baker also contributed goals for West End Primary. Kierra Broadley-Samuels scored a hat trick for St. George's Prep, with Jahni Burch adding the fourth.
Girls' Final: BHS and St. George's Preparatory to Battle for Supremacy
The Girls' Final will feature a clash between BHS and St. George's Preparatory. St. George's Prep advanced to the final with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Northlands Primary.
Broadley-Samuels continued her impressive scoring form, netting the winning goal after a brilliant solo effort. BHS earned their spot in the Final by ending Warwick Academy's recent dominance in the competition. After a 1-1 draw in regulation time, BHS prevailed 5-4 in a penalty shootout. Caroline Smatt gave Warwick Academy the lead, but Ella Kent equalized for BHS, setting up the dramatic shootout finish.
Division 1 Boys: Somersfield Academy and Warwick Academy to Face Off
The Division 1 Boys' Final will see Somersfield Academy take on Warwick Academy. Somersfield Academy secured their place in the final with a 1-0 victory over defending champions Saltus Grammar School, thanks to a goal from Trevor Mills.
Warwick Academy cruised to a 7-0 win over Harrington Sound Primary in their semi-final matchup. Sebastian Owen led the scoring with two goals, while Billy Brogden, Jaden Waldron, Eoin Muirhead, Shammaah Darko, and Daige Musson also found the back of the net.
With three exciting finals on the schedule, the Clyde Best Center of Excellence is set to be the stage for an unforgettable day of primary school football action.
