Squash Championships Day Two Marathon Matches

Day 2 of the Bermuda Squash Association Club Championships turned into a marathon test of endurance and skill, with a staggering six matches requiring a fifth set to determine a winner. Players battled it out in grueling contests, pushing themselves to the limit in pursuit of victory.

Men's Open Division: Shrubb Survives Pratt's Comeback

In the Men's Open Division, Jason Shrubb and Dylan Pratt engaged in a thrilling five-set battle. Shrubb took the first set, but Pratt stormed back to win the next two. Just when it seemed Pratt had the momentum, Shrubb dug deep, winning the fourth and fifth sets to secure an 11-8, 2-11, 10-12, 11-7, 11-7 victory.

Men's B Division: Ingelman, Beyer, and Savoury Survive Five-Set Thrillers

The Men's B Division saw three matches go the distance. Third seed Jeffrey Ingelman overcame a strong challenge from Michael Schrah, winning 11-7, 11-13, 11-5, 3-11, 11-7. Otto Beyer staged an epic comeback against Rocco Adderley, dropping the first two sets before roaring back to win 6-11, 16-18, 13-11, 11-8, 11-5. Top seed Jason Savoury also needed five sets to overcome Hudson Ferris, winning 8-11, 11-8, 11-7, 7-11, 11-4.

Men's B Division: Gillespie Edges Munro in Another Five-Setter

The marathon matches continued in the Men's B Division, with Kevin Gillespie edging Harry Munro in a five-set thriller. Gillespie took the first and third sets, but Munro responded by winning the second and fourth. In the decisive fifth set, Gillespie found an extra gear to secure an 11-8, 11-13, 11-9, 11-13, 11-6 victory.

Women's B Division: Zuill Completes Comeback in Five

The Women's B Division also featured a five-set marathon, with Asa Zuill completing a comeback victory against Terrie Morris-Greenslade. Zuill dropped the first and third sets but rallied to win the next two, securing an impressive 12-14, 11-5, 10-12, 11-8, 11-8 victory.
