Bermuda Rolls Past Mexico in Final T20 Warm-Up

IslandStats.com
Bermuda Won by 45 Runs

Bermuda 161/7 Mexico 116/9

Bermuda's National Cricket team continued their preparations for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Americas Sub-Regional Qualifiers with a convincing 45-run victory over Mexico in their final warm-up match in Corimayo, Argentina.

Batting first, Bermuda posted a solid total of 161/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Alex Dore II top-scored with a well-paced 38, anchoring the innings during his 81-minute stay at the crease. Dion Stovell provided valuable support with a quickfire 37, adding crucial runs during his 51 minutes at the wicket. Yashvanth Jasti was the pick of the Mexican bowlers, taking 2 wickets for 24 runs from his 3.3 overs.

Interestingly, the Mexican team featured three Bermudian players – Chare Smith, Dominic Sabir, and Jarryd Richardson – who suited up for the opposition in this warm-up clash.

Despite a valiant effort from Mexico, Bermuda's bowlers proved too strong, restricting them to 116/9 in their chase. Sabir, one of the Bermudians playing for Mexico, top-scored with an impressive 52 off just 36 balls, including six fours and two sixes. However, his efforts weren't enough to overcome Bermuda's bowling attack. Jermal Proctor was the standout performer for Bermuda, taking 2 wickets for 20 runs from his 3 overs.

With two warm-up victories under their belt, Bermuda will now focus on rest and recovery before their tournament opener against hosts Argentina on Friday, December 6th. The team will be looking to carry their momentum into the qualifiers and secure a spot in the next round.
