Olympian Jack Harvey made a triumphant return to the National Sports Center Pool at the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association's Winter Age Group Championships, leaving a trail of shattered records in his wake. Harvey, competing in the Men's 15 & Over Division, delivered a masterclass in Backstroke swimming, breaking three Bermuda Open Short Course records.
Harvey's first record-breaking swim came in the 50 SC Meter Backstroke. He touched the wall in a blistering time of 24.74, obliterating the 10-year-old record of 26.56 set by Roy-Allan Burch in 2014. Harvey's performance showcased his explosive speed and technical mastery of the Backstroke.
He continued his record-breaking spree in the 100 SC Meter Backstroke, shattering his own previous record of 57.84 set in 2020. Harvey's new time of 53.15 demonstrated his incredible improvement and dedication to the sport.
Harvey's final record-breaking swim came in the 200 SC Meter Backstroke. He powered through the water, touching the wall in a time of 1:55.97, significantly faster than his previous record of 2:04.44, also set in 2020. This impressive swim highlighted Harvey's endurance and ability to maintain speed over longer distances.
