The 2024 Comet Class Winter Series concluded with a thrilling finale in the St. George's Harbor, where sailors battled through challenging conditions over three race days to determine the overall champion. Maxwell Curtis and his crew, Wesley Tucker, emerged victorious after a consistent and impressive display of sailing skill.
The series tested the sailors' abilities across a range of conditions. The first two race days saw challenging winds and choppy waters, putting the sailors' boat handling and tactical acumen to the test. The final race day offered a different challenge, with calm conditions requiring finesse and strategic decision-making.
Curtis and Tucker navigated the varying conditions with expertise, accumulating 15 points over the three race days to secure the overall championship. Their consistent performance and ability to adapt to the changing conditions proved to be the winning formula.
Allan Frith and his crew, Sarah Frith, finished a close second with 18 points. The Friths demonstrated their competitive spirit throughout the series, pushing Curtis and Tucker to the very end.
