In his first-round match, Carrick faced a tough challenge from Egypt's Shady Sherbiny, ultimately falling in a hard-fought four-game battle.
Carrick started strong, claiming the first game 11-9. However, Sherbiny responded with resilience, taking the next three games 11-8, 11-5, 11-9 to secure the victory. The match, which lasted 50 minutes, showcased the competitive spirit of both athletes.
Despite the first-round exit, Carrick's participation in the St. Louis Open provided valuable experience on the professional squash circuit.
