Saltus Storms to Victory in BSSF Middle School Under 13 Six-a-Side Tournament Showdown
The Clyde Best Center of Excellence was a cauldron of excitement as Saltus Grammar School clinched the Bermuda School Sports Federation Middle School Under 13 Six-a-Side Tournament title in a thrilling 5-1 victory over Somersfield Academy. The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both teams showcasing incredible skill and determination in a battle for middle school supremacy.
Saltus came out of the gates with lightning speed, seizing the lead within the first minute thanks to a clinical strike from Jace Postlethwaite, who capped off a beautiful passing sequence with a precise finish into the left corner. But Somersfield, known for their resilience, responded quickly. Matteo Aleong, with cat-like reflexes, pounced on a quickly taken corner to level the score, sending the Somersfield supporters into a frenzy.
The second half belonged to Saltus. They unleashed an attacking masterclass, scoring four unanswered goals to secure the championship. Postlethwaite added another goal to his tally, while Adam Barritt unleashed two spectacular long-range strikes that left the Somersfield goalkeeper grasping at thin air. Xavi Dill put the icing on the cake with the fifth and final goal just before the final whistle, sparking wild celebrations among the Saltus players and fans.

They emerged victorious from a tense final against Prospect Primary, with Eoin Muirhead scoring the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory.
Warwick's journey to the final was marked by a dominant 2-0 win over Saltus Grammar School in the semi-final, with Sebastian Owen scoring a brace. Prospect Primary booked their place in the final with a thrilling 3-2 win over rivals Somersfield Academy in a match that went down to the wire.
