Ray and her teammates came out with fire in their eyes after being sent in to bat. Openers Rebecca West and Emily Hessell set the stage ablaze with a sensational 100-run partnership, dispatching the Subiaco-Floreat bowlers to all parts of the ground. Hessell anchored the innings with a classy 52, while West played the aggressor with a blistering 45. Ray, coming in lower down the order, added a quickfire 5 off 9 balls, including a powerful boundary that sent the fielders scrambling.
Despite the strong start, South Perth's innings faltered in the middle overs, with Jacqueline Naidoo proving to be a thorn in their side. Naidoo's impressive spell of 4 wickets for 26 runs put the brakes on South Perth's scoring, restricting them to a total of 223.
Subiaco-Floreat, chasing a challenging target, came out all guns blazing. Openers Tya Gonsalves and Naidoo produced a masterclass in batting, putting together a dominant partnership that took the game away from South Perth.
