The tension was palpable as Bermuda's karting aces Scott Barnes and Ryan Rebello took to the scorching tarmac for the final day of action at the SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas. With grid positions for the main event on the line, the pressure was on to deliver in the warm-up race and Heat 3.
Barnes, determined to overcome the mechanical gremlins that plagued him earlier in the weekend, showed his speed in the warm-up, clocking the 14th fastest lap time. Rebello, also aiming to climb the leaderboard, secured 39th in the warm-up.
Heat 3 was a flat-out sprint, with Barnes and Rebello battling fiercely in the Master Shifter by Freem class. Barnes, pushing his kart to the limit, crossed the line in 12th, while Rebello fought hard to secure 27th place.
Barnes said, "In Heat 3 my tires were just starting to come on and the race was cut short for a red flag bad crash. I am just not having much luck this year, well onto the finals tomorrow.”
Meanwhile, Brian Bulhoes, competing in the KA100 Master by Orsolon Racing Class, faced his own challenges. He finished 43rd in the warm-up and battled his way to 30th in Heat 3.
With the SuperNationals reaching its climax, the stage is set for a thrilling finale. Barnes and Rebello will be looking to unleash their full potential and make a charge through the field in the main event. Can they overcome the odds and claim a spot on the podium? The Bermuda karting contingent is ready to leave it all on the track in the pursuit of SuperNationals glory!
