IslandStats.com
Saltus Grammar School emerged victorious from a pulsating final against Warwick Academy to defend their title in the Bermuda School Sports Federation’s Middle School Under 12 Six-a-Side Football Tournament.

The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both teams showcasing incredible skill and determination.

Saltus came out of the gates like a lightning bolt, seizing the lead within the first minute thanks to a clinical strike from Roman Gaglio. The Saltus supporters erupted in a frenzy of cheers, and the momentum was firmly in their favor. Just three minutes later, Royal Fubler Tucker doubled the lead with a superb finish, leaving Warwick reeling.

But Warwick, known for their never-say-die attitude, refused to surrender. Cree Bean, pulled a goal back just before halftime, injecting a much-needed dose of hope for his team.

The second half was a tense affair, with both teams battling tooth and nail for every inch of the pitch. Warwick pressed hard for an equalizer, but the Saltus defense stood tall, repelling wave after wave of attack. Then, with just two minutes left on the clock, Kobe Deane delivered the knockout blow for Saltus, scoring a crucial goal to seal the victory and spark wild celebrations among his teammates and fans.

The road to the final was filled with drama for both teams. Saltus stormed into the final with a dominant 8-1 victory over Francis Patton in their Semi-Final. Gaglio was the star of the show, bagging a hat-trick, while Fubler Tucker added two goals. Ben McQueen, Chance Franks, and Cai Williams also got on the scoresheet, while Elijah Smith scored the consolation goal for Francis Patton.

Warwick's Semi-Final clash against Whitney Institute was a nail-biter that went down to the wire. They twice surrendered the lead before ultimately prevailing 4-3 in a dramatic Kicks from the Penalty Mark Shootout. Bean was the hero for Warwick, scoring both goals in regulation time, while Julian Simmons and Masai Simmons found the net for Whitney.

This tournament was a testament to the incredible talent and passion for football within Bermuda's Middle Schools.
