Andrew Armstrong, the reigning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, and the University of Dayton Men's Soccer team secured their place in the A-10 Championship Final for the second consecutive year with a decisive 2 - 0 victory over Fordham University at a rain-soaked Baujan Field.
The University of Dayton, driven by a desire to avenge an earlier season loss to Fordham University, delivered a dominant performance to book their spot in the championship match.
Dayton seized control early on, capitalizing on a set-piece opportunity in the 5th minute. Graduate student Hjalti Sigurdsson rose above the Fordham defense to head home a corner kick delivered by sophomore Martin Bakken, scoring his eighth goal of the season.
Dayton continued to dictate the tempo and doubled their advantage in the 68th minute. Freshman Felix Buabeng provided the assist for senior Ethan Sassine, who blasted home his sixth goal of the campaign.
Dayton's resolute defense, coupled with their clinical finishing, ensured a comfortable victory and a return to the A-10 Championship Final. They will now aim to claim the conference title and secure an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
