Bermudian sailors Nicole Stovell and Laura Hupman played key roles in a dominant performance by the Dalhousie University Sailing team, who captured the CICSA 2024 Fleet Racing National Championship title.
The prestigious Fall Championship, hosted by McGill University at the Pointe-Claire Yacht Club, saw ten of Canada's top university sailing teams battling for supremacy on the water. Over the course of 16 fiercely contested races, Dalhousie University demonstrated exceptional teamwork, tactical prowess, and boat handling skills to emerge victorious.
Stovell and Hupman, both integral members of the Dalhousie squad, contributed significantly to the team's overall success. Their experience and expertise proved invaluable as they navigated challenging conditions and outmaneuvered their rivals.
The University of Toronto finished a close second, while the Royal Military College of Canada rounded out the podium in third place. However, it was Dalhousie University who roared the loudest, claiming the coveted National Championship Trophy and cementing their position as a force to be reckoned with in Canadian Collegiate Sailing.
